Bretonnian religion pre 5th ed.

Before the Lady of the Lake became a thing what would the Bretonnians be doing on a Sunday? Would they have followed the other human gods like Morr and Taal? I assume La Masontaal or however it's spelt was an abbey dedicated to Taal?

Are any of the human gods associated with crosses? I vaguely remember a picture in WHFB 2nd ed with someone holding a cross, not sure if that's too old to be relevant though.

I can't say I know enough about bretonnian's to know about the lady of the lake..
3ed said they kinda revered various saints and ancient heroes and some of the knights worshiped the Lady of Battle..., so maybe Myrmidia?

La Maisontaal (the House of Taal) is bretonnian (due to name being french) and decicated to Taal

Remember that GW were still churning out rpg figures in the WFB2 days and that a surprising amount of their cleric types in those days had crosses or crucifixes of some sort.

Regarding religion, haven't the Bretonnians always worshipped - knowingly or unknowingly - Glamm-Ar, the Elven goddess of fabulousness?

I know the pond elf 'Lady' was a thing in 5th but can't really find anything regarding religious beliefs before that, mind you there wasn't much Bretonnian lore at all really back in the day.

Not sure if they had much lore in the RPG, it's been years since I last read the main book.

Though FYI, there were 8 days a week with no actual Sunday.
There is the faith of Gadd, iirc their worshippers had crosses.
Also of note, in WFB 3rd or WFRP 1e, Sigmar is a minor or lesser diety.

of course Sigmar is minor. He was just a human who was the main one behind founding the empire. Not on the level with a major god! the nerve to think he would rank up with a God! ^_^

Having a skim through WFB 3rd , WFRP 1st and Warhammer Armies it would seem that the Bretonnians worship the standard gods of the Old World.
Looking at their society I would be minded to have the knights and the warrior noble class be a mix of Verena (justice and honour which could a good chivalric match) and Myrmidia, being a warrior and also merciful with it.

WFRP does make it clear however that there is a metric crap tonne of gods out there.

Gadd whilst only mentioned briefly once in The Riding (WFB 2nd supplement) does smell loads like a Christian inspired faith, the temples look like churches, the clerics are called monks and wear monk style robes and cut their hair.
It also mentions the feast of Gadd held at winter and notes it is a feast of goodwill and peace to all men, and involves family, booze and over eating, if that is not Christmas I am not sure what is!

So I could get away with an undead hunting Knight waving a cross? Crosses are often used on heraldry for Skellyboi killers so a holy order of Undead hunting knights (heraldrys blue with white crosses) and the occasional cross wouldn't be too out of character for a pre pond elf army?

I would say it should be fine, crosses were very common back in the day of WFB.
Infact, I always found it odd that Warhammer graves had so many crosses rather than the symbols or architecture of Morr.
When I eventually do my gravestones I will be making them have a distinct Morr style to them.

If nothing else, maybe the knights worship a main god, but their own particular order/cult has a cross as a symbol just to identify members?

I was gonna say, for Undead hunters, Morr would be a good choice. Though techincally Morr's priest wear no symbol, they are very anti-undead and necromancers and stuff (though kinda allowed undead if Morr allows it in that case), so good for undead hunters. Being blue with white.. mm a little off from Morr but if you want to do them like that, why not?

The cross the nights holding will be a relic used by the first grand master of the order, I sure there's some magic item I could pass it off as.
