I was thinking we could have some more subtle benefits/setbacks. For instance a certain tunnel could allow x amount of baddie units to set up behind goodie lines/infiltrate/pop up in the middle of the field if cleared. A victory for the goodies in one place could delay the arrival of some baddie troops. Some magical artefacts may end up in the goodie/baddie camps depending on how the campaign goes etc.
