Hi all,

I'm currently working on an undead Blood Bowl team. I would like to share with you the first two finished players. A wight and a mummy.

Re: Blood Bowl Undead

Hey Kim, nice to see you here! As always, someone beat me to the punch with the realization of a project - but now I understand why you asked me about my Black Widows. ;)

Are you content with the Blood Bowlification of your mummy (heh) or will you add more parts to the next? I think the pad turned out great! My own plan involves a loose kneepad as well - and I think I had the shoulder pad on the other shoulder. Yours look so good that I'll copy it. =)

Like the wight too, but would've preferred some modifications on it. I'm using an old 3rd party BB wight (Mike Thorp's if you remember it, from 2004) and a converted Chaos in Cairo mini from westwind (Shaitan, to the left here http://www.oldglory25s.com/images/cic07.jpg). Unfortunately, Shaitan is the only model I've converted for my widows so far. Got two mummies and four ghouls to do!

Looking forward to see more of yours!

Thanks for the comments. I'm pretty satisfied with the amount of Blood Bowlification on the mummy as this image has served as my main inspiration. I hear you regarding the wight, but it is just such a lovely miniature that I didn't want to ruin it. I'm going to use the same ghost as Steve Mussared for the second wight and he won't get converted either. For my second mummy I'm actually thinking of just using a troll - Black Widows style. The stat line is not that different really. I'll probably paint a second mummy for games against coaches who don't accept proxies. I don't like proxies either unless they are there for fluff reasons like my troll.

Looking forward to seeing your version of the team!

Re: Blood Bowl Undead

Very nice and subtly done.

I think the Wight is all the more sinister for not having spikes and armour added

I have an aversion to BB models with no BB flavour. The wight is great though, but would be even greater with pads. =)

It is just so hard to strap shoulderpads on a player who has no real physical presence! ;)

Apology accepted, Captain Needa... ;)

Re: Blood Bowl Undead

Just a quick update. I've painted up the second wight for my undead Blood Bowl team. Again a ghost from the old Citadel night horrors range.

It's becoming more and more clear to me how difficult it is to paint black well. I think I will try to use a lighter highlight color on the edges of the black areas on future models.

Re: Blood Bowl Undead

Danish Open 2014 is getting closer and I'm determined to play my undead team at the tournament so I have been painting a lot lately.

The hafling zombie is a slightly modified Blood Bowl halfling. I know that technically you can't raise halflings, but the race makes no difference to the game since all zombies have the same stats.

The unlucky elf is a converted Blood Bowl elf lineman with his legs removed. I used the legs from an old ghoul/zombie instead.

The human zombie wasn't modified in any way.

The ghouls are both from the range of AD&D miniatures that Citadel produced for a short while. They have both received shoulder pads sculpted in Green Stuff.

Right now I'm working on a skaven zombie and another ghoul and hopefully they will all be ready in time for the tournament. Maybe I'll see you there?

Re: Blood Bowl Undead (Updated May 27)

I posted on TFF earlier, but I'll repeat it hear - that elf is fantastic - really natural looking conversion :)

Re: Blood Bowl Undead (Updated May 27)

I agree with axiom. That is a fantastic conversion and set of nice paint jobs; a superb team in the making!

Re: Blood Bowl Undead (Updated May 27)

The elf is great, and so are the other guys! Very nice, Kim. Glad to see you returning to this!

Re: Blood Bowl Undead (Updated May 27)

Is the face of the elf, "just", a paint job or have you converted it?

Re: Blood Bowl Undead (Updated May 27)

Utterly brilliant team, Horekim! I like the "organic" range of skin tones offsetting the limited palette of the gear. The eyes on that AD&D Ghoul are fantastic!
My only gripe would be that the mummy is a bit on the small side for a ST5 blocker, especially if the other blcker is a troll. I'd use two trolls and be done with it..
