looks alright to me. do you have any comparison shots?

I'll take some at the weekend. I'll even include a chunky 4th ed dude. This guy's definitely a unit in comparison to the mid-to-late '80s beastmen, but does scale well with the larger broo (there's a lot of size variation across that range).

Having bought a fair few now, I would say £8-£10 for the more common (boxed set) broo is about right. Most of mine were bought in bulk from Oldhammer trading groups online rather than from eBay, which tends to be a tad more expensive. Oh, and watch out for lead rot.

It's a real shame that Citadel only had the RuneQuest licence for 2 years as I think the broo is one of their stronger pre-slotta ranges. Peak Perrys. I also have a few of the early Ral Partha broo, sculpted by a chap called Bob Charrette, which look very nice.

CH4 Chaos Beastmen 'Zolkor' (1987)

He swiped the shield from a Vendel Miniatures orc. The skull motif is a modern GW transfer (thought I'd give it a whirl).

I might be wrong but I'll pretty much say That's a Jes Goodwin sculpt isn't it? I can't find a confirmed credit but.. that is SOOO a Jes Goodwin sculpt. and you have done a great job on him

Doesn't look like Jes's work to me. My money's on Kev Adams.

Both are a good shout. According to Lost Minis Wiki, the '87 range was sculpted by Adams, Goodwin and Copplestone. I think I'd be tempted to go Kev for Zolkor as well. The same body was also used for 'Larg', some sort of Creature from the Black Lagoon-style mutant, and his face has that Kev Adams' goofy malevolence. I only have a handful of CH4 sculpts, but I think that it is a superb range and will be be picking up more odds and sods as I go along.

I honestly don't know the answer. All I know is he's a lovely little man-oceros and I'm looking forward to painting more of his beast-chums.

Either way, great painting nice use of the transfer. 🙂
