Axiom's Miscellaneous Painted Stuff

Re: Wasted Youth: An Ash Wastes Nomad Project

I couldn't resist a late night painting session to paint up the pair of Chaos cultists (shown in the WIP thread) last night. Both adherents of a Slaaneshi cult called the Cult of the Silken Veil, I present Eunuch-Cultist Moktafi and slave mutant Gron-Slom:

Thanks Dooz - glad you like them. Certainly my skills are improving - not sure I can claim to have good taste though ;)

Oh, sir, that's outstanding! Love what you did there, now you make me want to desecrate a number of old Orks! Look what you have done!

Awe man! I don't even have the fantasy version of that two headed mutant now I need to buy two of them!

Thanks guys! Erny - the two headed guy epitomises my idea of what beast men should be - not homogeneous goat-headed hairy guys, but depraved and malformed. In some ways I was sad to chop off his snake hand!

Suber - its not desecration if the end result is worth it in my book ;)

I built this guy below for the Bestiary of the Exalted and Unfortunate project.

He is intended to represent a Champion of Tzeentch - a minotaur with a host of Chaos attributes (eyestalks, scorpion tail, big ears, rearranged face). As I started painting him however, I decided he would be nice as some sort of alien mercenary to accompany my Chaos Cultists. So I added a tiny little tech detail to his weapon, and mirrored the colour scheme from Gron-Slom. Hey presto, it's Bro'og the Gorgite, alien muscle for hire ;)

He's built from a host of different parts - the body is a Beast Face Miniatures minotaur, with the head from a Warploque Miniatures minotaur. I swapped the horned around and added eyestalks from a Hasslefree alien. The tail is from a Khorne fleshound and the mace head is from an old Zoat.

Oh, and he's massive!

Disclaimer: Completely unintentional resemblence to any amphibious annoying slapstick alien from a major sci-fi film franchise...

I think the Jar Jar resemblances fits, what can be more evil than a Jar Jar look a like  , a couple years back I converted some placcy brettonian knights into tzeench chaos knights for a mate and I turned on of them in a gungan, not sure he thought it was as funny as I did

Thanks guys! Glad he's appealing to most people (Jar Jar horror aside!).

I got round to painting up probably the final figure I paint this year! (Courtesy of Whiskey Priest via the Oldhammer Salvation Army - thanks Colin!)

I introduce Aigulf, Hero of the Imperium:

Some more pics and background to the character over at the blog.

Two comments: Jar Jar is fan-freaking-tastic. Very well done. Splendid conversion. And secondly, a minor detail: I love the tile floor you did on Aigulf the Saved Hero's stand. Very nice little touch. Excellent work as always. Very nice.

Happy New Year! For my first painted models in 2015 I went for some simple figures which have been sat unpainted on my desk for months - a pair of Adeptus Arbites Agents (sort of like 40k detectives I think!):

They're made from RT Commissars with heads from Paranoia Troubleshooters. More pics and text on my blog.
