Anyone know much about digital scales?

I have a set of cheap Geepas pocket scales meant for small weights and stuff.. they claim for jewely but I use it for when I'm doing small amounts of resin. while it has improved my resin mixing greatly, I have a nasty annoying thing with it where I put it on my flat desk (or I think flat) and yet it will creep weight slowly. It's appears to be VERY sensitive.. Just wondering if anyone knew much about these things like if there is something I should adjust or do.. I left the protective film on the weight platform cause.. I'm measure resins.. It get as bit messy even at the best of times ^_^

huh.. I noticed earlier when I was feeling the plate no the scale,s they only appeared to really go down on side. which was odd.. I looked around and there was some white stuff, quite crumbly, built up between the frame and the under side of the plate on that one side. I gave it a quick clean and tried it.. and they are now MUCH more stable..

doesn't appear to have been from a tiny bit of leaked resin but... huh.. I'm gonna probebly see if I can give a better clean and try the bag approach ^_^ I've already repaired the hinge (erm.. I was doing something and ended up snapping it... so I replaced it with... a bit of cocktail stick ^_^:) so.. interesting
