Battle zone miniatures are a bunch of lads from Royston who bought the Grenadier UK molds, the Italian set up brought the US molds. Anyway nice lads but they only play AoA which they also bought the rights to. I must get round to getting the elves they do.

With them and Otherworld I think Royston is the new Nottingham for old school minis  .

Back on track I look forward to seeing more.
Didn;t know that.
Thanks for posting that ... Just placed an order to fill some gaps.
I have been going to order from Milirton (Sp?) for ages but no excuses with those prices.

Whats A0A???

Bugger ... new I should have stayed in Royston.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

You used to live in Royston Harry?

Small world if so.

AoA is Armies of Arcana. Sort of a warhammer knock off but different enough to be different. It is ok.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

A village just outside .... Royston was the nearest town.
I used to play Rugby for Royston.
Maybe 20 Years ago.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Well then you have honorary membership of OGRE.

EXCELLENT!
I get down there a couple of times a year as I still have good friends down that way.
I sure I can co-ordinate a trip with an OGRE night.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Only if you bring some of your excellent miniatures.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Oh Hell yes I would definatly like to join the Grog... I can bring tom longs :)

When would the next meet be? what should I bring? etc etc etc.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Yay!!! ... and then there were three! We can now have a game with a GM.

The next solid plan is the "Night of the living lead" around Halloween. Either on the Thursday night or on the weekend 2nd and 3rd November right after Halloween. Necromancers, undead, lots of random spookey stuff. Should be fun.

There was some talk of a game at the end of this month just so not to leave it so long.
I will get in touch with Norse and see if we are still on for this.

Welcome on board. Great to have another member.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Ok well after a trade with a friend I have these undead I'll strip and get painted up ready for halloween!

(Chico its the skellies I'll strip. sorry :-p)

I also have 8 of the Rackham Scavengers of Achron, not really old hammer, but would they be useful?

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Nothing has to be oldhammer. Oldhammer to me means playing with whatever you have got.
As I used to when I did not have many toys.

Who or what are tom longs?
How is your Chaos warband coming along? Mine have not had a run out yet. Maybe we could get a Chaos warband game in sometime?
There was some talk on the way back from Oldhammer day of a battle between Chaos and Empire and Dwarf allies if I remember correctly. (Just because I had a few Nurgle, a few Empire and a few Dwarves all painted up and ready to go.
But nothing was set in stone.
What figures/armies have you got? (Don't have to be old).

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

:O oh harry im dissapointed

Tom Long = Stroud breweries finest ale... possibly the finest session ale at that .

http://www.stroudbrewery.co.uk/our-beer ... 9-tom-long

ok what I have
reasonable contingent of 80s woodelves (missing the cav but thats about all)
Small contingent of 80s skaven

just bought a small amount of 80's brets (or atleast i think they are)
the undead i pictured above..

Now my main hobby has been rackhams confrontation and I have A LOT of these (when they switched to prepainted plastics I picked up a lot) so i have enough to make a decent warhammer size army in any of their races..
Also recently picked up a gripping beast Saga anglodane war band.

you'll have to pop over and have a peak at the cabinet in the loafing room.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Bollox to the minis just turn up with the ale.

As I said nothing is set in stone we can just as happily play Chaos v's Wood elves? Or Skaven v's Empire/Dwraves.

I have enough Norse now for a game of SAGA so I wouldn't mind a swing at that either.

Norse (Member) also has enough Norse for a warband ... might get a three way game of SAGA in?

I will get hold of Norse and see if he is still up for this and see if we can agree a date.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

To be honest I wouldnt mind just having a beer and watch/refereeing a game, just to get out of the house and spending some time with like minded gamers... a game is a bonus.

Well, that we can do ... but we need three for a game with a GM.

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Sorry lads, been away for a while!

The forum's gone all new!

Are we still on for Night of the Living Lead?

I can get at least one other player to join in, Ben'll be coming down from Birmingham, and I'm hoping Mike from the Dursley roleplayers'll want to join in too. What date is good for you Harry? Gives us something to work around. I'm going to get to work on making up a bunch of card buildings and some dice tables and cards and bits. Will you have extra skeletons and necromancers people can use? I can paint some up too if necessary.

Hello whisper, will you be joining us at the end of the month?

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Thats the plan unless my life changes drastically

Re: Anyone for GROG? (Gloucesershire Retro & Oldhammer Gamer

Yes, very much still up for this.
I have a games room, a table, lots of undead and some scenery. (I have a village for the locals).
I guess we could do with listing/posting what we have so we know what we still need/want.

Haloween falls on the Thursday of half term so thats OK with me ... although the chils might want a halloween party.
So the weekend (Saturday) after Halloween seems the best bet ... we can start in the morning and let it run all day/night.

How's that sound?

Ok is it painted only? I have after a trade managed to get hold of 40 or so metal vintage stellies but they are all bear metal and thats about it atm. I do have a necromancer on the way from MutantDale too (when trade is compleate) but that is all
