Excellent mini, love Gimli! FWIW, all 3 are good and it'll be difficult to choose unless you've decided on a particular design! I like the simple one. The larger banner with 3 pronged 'tail' is larger for intricate detail and could lend itself to an abstract fiery comet, dragons tail interlaced or bold colour/gold infill to flap in a stiff mountain breeze!!!

Obviously the flags are just mock ups, but if you are unsure about the single pennant last option, mock it up again higher up the pole.

I like Michael's idea of a damp hanging banner. Although probably somewhat harder to do.

Wet wipes are your friends for that, or foil.
Wet wipes for a more cloth look, foil for fancy deets.

Yes I really like using it. It ends up rock hard making it easy to sand or trim with a knife. The type I have is Tamiya Epoxy Putty Quick Type but I would ignore the 'quick' part as I find its pliable for plenty of time .

Can't put into words how amazing that looks.

I am a fan of tamiya putty, as well: all not-metal parts of my war-chicken/land wyvern are made of that.

For rougher/evil races' banners very stretched out GS is great too: if properly textured with the palm of your hand or a yogurt foil lid it nicely resembles flayed skin/hide/rough fabric

After seeing this fantastic banner I'm starting to consider it for my dwarf spearman unit's banner. Would it be sensible to reinforce it with wire if I'm trying to have it hanging at an angle (like the metal flags are)?
