Another distraction

Lots of movement and life to it. Did you cut the banner shape first then fold it up?
I let the putty go off a bit before I cut the shape. The design is firstly drawn on paper so I can use that as the template for when I cut the putty. Once cut I let it go off even more say an hour as around that sort of time the folds etc I want should stay in place.
After seeing this fantastic banner I'm starting to consider it for my dwarf spearman unit's banner. Would it be sensible to reinforce it with wire if I'm trying to have it hanging at an angle (like the metal flags are)?
If you use Tamiya Putty you wouldn't need to strengthen as it does go rock hard once completely cured.

So as much as you all seem to really like that first version I'm still playing around with both the style and pose and to that end here is version 2 !

I think I like this shape slightly more than first but think might try one more before deciding. I'm thinking this shape but smaller and have it drooping like the first.

Version 2 I can see him stood in the biting wind. Version 1 I'm picturing him with breeze and dampness, like the storm's just ended and he's sat guard through it. Both are good!

So I've gone for a mix of both. Felt the 2 pronged flag would give me more movement due to the 2 points and decided to go for a halfway position neither fully down or fully up so basically there's a gentle breeze !

Not completely finished as I will need to work on the join where the flag joins the pole. At the moment its held with superglue.

So managed to attach the banner and paint it up . Sadly I did drop model resulting in banner breaking off and gluing back in place did leave a slight crease when it dried. I tried my best to remove but is visible still on one side. So I think I'm about 85% complete. Pole and handle need to be painted and then it will be finishing off highlights on model and then adding some more of the snow.

Also nothing to do with Hobby but went to see one of my fav bands from my youth. Wasn't sure what to expect but had a great time.

yeah, agree it's a shame about dropping but.. yeah.. I'm there far too much (also add losing small bits which break off at times ¬_¬) but looks good.

And I have no clue who that band is. And checking up, I can see why ^_^ I have a wide range of tastes but not really into that type. great you enjoy it though. some of my top bands will NEVER play anywhere near me... or play at all these days.

It's looking great, and I'm struggling to see the crease.

I like the white detail to the pony's face - how did you get it so natural looking with the grading of the shades? Did you sponge or dry brush or something?

Finished and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

I really enjoyed this little project and as much as I would love to have the motivation to complete my armies and think for me these sort of projects are probably the way forward for me in the hobby. I've already been thinking of another project using the original Dwarf Alpine model and another snowy scene !!!

I'm not sure why... apart the alpine thing but..

Layee odl, layee odl layee oo,
Loud was the voice of the lonely goatherd,
Layee odl layee odl oo."
