Agreeing with Zhu and Magos, but I think that pose can largely be maintained while also adding some dynamic qualities. You can make him Ambull-ing forward (:ducks:) in a very Zombie like way. Twist the wrists around and put him in a little bit of motion.

Ah, those D&D examples weren't for anatomical reference, just the pose and design history - the model looking over its forearm is great - extend the metatarsals and have him resting on his phalanges / claws to get the back legs more dynamic.

Ardyer has a point - its possible to keep the pose gorilla like without it looking static. Here's an animation loop of a gorilla walking.
