Hey all,
I've not played 3rd ed since I was about 13. I'm hoping to go to BOYL next year with a 1K Dwarf force as part of a painting comp to get us Dad's motivated to pick up a brush at the end of a long day.
Any 1K list advice for an old timer?
So far I've spent about 3 nights just looking at data lists and not making any decisions. I'm already not painting.
I want to take a swivel gun as I can't be a Dwarf general without any black powder on the field. I don't think the point level lends itself to much more.
I'm tied in to compulsory purchases of Crossbows and Warriors (albeit @ 1/3 the numbers due to the limited points cap)
Are units of 10 worth taking (elites)? At least considering the points level. I'm not convinced, but really want to paint some.
I have enough lead from all unit types to easily field a 1K force. I just don't know what to bring on the day. I prefer fluffier lists, but I'd like to offer a competitive game.
Any advice from any Dwarf generals greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
AB
