Just to agree with everyone else - the figure looks amazing. Utterly impractical to take anywhere or use in a game but that's part of the beauty - it reminds me of those crazy dioramas that used to appear in heavy metal when i was a kid - just awesome.

yep! the only one with a large enough face to accomodate a snout:mrgreen:.
The foot is the same: I 've just cut and sanded the armour plates in order to bend it a little and added a rose thorn as a poulaine.
 
Wow, seeing it all together like that simply stunning. What an achievement. Is it possible to pick a favourite part? Not sure. I'm a big fan of all the leather straps and harness type bits you did, details like that set this apart from other great pieces. However I love every part of it. If you get some professional photos done please do post them. Excellent.

The new project looks interesting.

With orcs you really have to push on leather and metals if you want them to look interesting: there's not much stuff on them which can look fancy (unless you're a fan of the red period style...and I'M NOT:lol:)
During the final stages of assembly I was super-nervous, as all the extra gear was made progressively and never fit-tested before painting, therefore I was not sure if and how attaching it all was even possible (let alone the risk of dropping the entire model or breaking something).
I'm getting some pro pics taken, that's for sure: friends from afar want some better views and - now that online painting contests are a thing - will probably enter it here and there.

The new project was born as a bit of a joke with a friend: I've been owing him a painted mini since a couple of years, but a) I preferred not to interrupt working on the war-chicken (maybe "land wyvern" would be more appropriate...I could name her La-Verne:grin:) and b) I'm not very fond of giving away my painted minis:mrgreen:.
In the meantime I developed a little backstory which is inspiring me to work on another character at the same time, which will stay in my collection and will be followed by another 4:
we have these two twin orc brothers who enjoy spending their lives together, looting and bbq'ing like there's no tomorrow: during one of their raids in a village, they stumble across a two-headed piglet, which incidentally is the beloved familiar of a sorcerer, who dies trying to save it from the hungry orcs.
Before dying, though, the sorcerer casts a curse on the attackers: the actual piglet killer will get pig traits himself and the other one, unable to recognise his brother anymore, will spend the rest of his life trying to catch and devour his own kin.
I'm now working on the 2 cursed twins: I'm trying to pimp them up a bit to make them more interesting.
Later rather than sooner :oops: I'll complete the cast of characters with the sorcerer, the piglet and a freelance knight as the sorcerer's son mounted on a pork dad, seeking revenge together.

I'm intrigued by the weapon shaft. It looks like you have waited until the putty has hardened before adding the woodgrain ? If so what do you use ?
