40k...1990's style!

Hey all;

Well after a few weeks of 6mm Epic fun I decided to return to some classic 28 mm gaming this week with a battle of second edition Warhammer 40k battle. In this Space Marine vs Space Marine battle I commanded a force of my Rogue Trader Salamanders whilst my girlfriend commanded my more modern Crimson Fists.

This battle was fought over my urban terrain and was thoroughly enjoyable, especially as we decided to include a few tanks this time around!! The presence of armoured vehicles really added another element of tactics to the action!

This game reminded me that 1993-1998 was really the golden age of 40k!

I've done a full report with loads of pictures on my blog!

Cool, that was a good read :) what other armies can we look forward to seeing fight in the future?

I have an eclectic bag of armies mainly involving power armour... Ranging from my three loyalist space marine chapters, my faithful battle sisters and a small force of traitor iron warriors. There are also odds and sods such as a small inquisitorial force; some Imperial Army (not guard) and the beginnings of a gene stealer cult. My main opponents field their own armies of guard and space marines; so it really depends on who I can force to face me next :)

Many thanks mate; it's nice to see these old models holding there own against today's variants. I was wary of introducing vehicles actually as my memories of second ed made them seem extremely complicated and I didn't want to smother my partners enthusiasm...however they were actually fairly simple to use and made a lot more sense than their modern counter parts!!! Perhaps it was merely my 13 year old brain that couldn't handle them back in the nineties!!!!!!

It would however be nice to win a battle!!!!
