Not much of a builder or converter but I've always played in 15mm mainly, for reasons of space, cost and the fact that 15mm scifi has absolutely exploded in the last 5 years or so.

So I am looking at my shelf and I have some 30 or so Imperial marines from Laserburn. A huge pile of various adventurers and pirates (also laserburn) and tons of left over ww2 Soviets and Germans. Seems like the start of a pretty solid imperial army right?

For genestealers, will probably just use 15mm xenomorphs (since the 'stealer was basically just Aliens in any event). Then gotta build up some eldar and ork types.


Anyone doing anything like this?
 
Yes!

I forget who, but there's at least one other forum member doing RT in 15 mm.
Check either the WIP or showcase.
 
I was going to, but decided against it in order to get some synergies between scifi and fantasy. I just don't have the time to maintain two scales for gaming. Thus I went with 28mm after doing some heavy research for suitable 15mm eldar, orks and so forth.

The stuff from Ion Age is really great, especially the not-marines and the not-orks (maligs).
