1/72 Castle thoughts?

'The hooded man'! Now I know where I have seen your avatar from! It was bugging me - so familiar, and yet I couldn't work out why.

My son (now 14) LOVED all those series last year, proving that in terms of enjoyment, that story never aged.

Your son has good taste, he's proof that some shows will always be timeless. I'm over due a rewatch, it's been at least six months since I have seen Michael Praed flick his magnificent hair (and Jason acting more wooden than my wardrobe).

Only noticed on my last watch you see Ray Winstones twig and giggle berries in the episode where he thinks he's got leprosy from eating the stew, when he's washing himself in the river. Some things can't be unseen.

Cut some card to look like some stonework and then slapped on some thinned plaster to give it some texture. Not going for anything fancy, quick prime with a spray can then dry brush with greys and then probably call it a day. Can't spend too much time on the castle when my army sits unpainted.

Revisited the series after the How We Made article appeared in The Guardian. Got the Clannad theme ear-worming its way through my skull again now… cheers!

Robin... Roooobinnnnnnn the Hooded Mannnnnnnnnn... dun dun....

Absolute banger of a tune, people get confused because my t-shirts are mostly black metal band tops, yet at my house Im usually playing Clannad, Adam and the Ants or russian 80s synth pop. Can't remember the last time I stuck on some Dark Throne. :(

Annnnd now I'm awake time to walk my mates doggo (boxer staffy mix, totally retarded with no active brain cell) then back to cutting out tiny stones from card and more texturing.

Now why did you have to go and post that and I was being so good about my mini spending this year! ;)

Damn they have some very nice minis, like the good of the Stone Golem

I know people whos life direction was massively influenced by that show. Certainly my hobby was ... I went DEEP into WFRP to try and capture some of what that show had. I mean, scenarios, a PC party, bad guys. It was like an RP campaign. (Like Serenity / Firefly was too, later.)

Good to know I'm not the only person that does that. Have you seen the minis by Conquest Games based on the show? Got all the Wolfsheads (with variant sculpts) and a nice range of Normans. Unfortunately no minis for the Hounds of Lucifer or Gulnar.
Yeah - seen those a while ago. But I have hundreds in the queue for Tilea's Troubles, and an almost empty purse!

But, I also think I have seen another range too. Maybe I dreamt it?

crocked dice of course done one of there... kinda how are they getting way with it being soo on par and soo many things, including stuff miniatures are being officially licensed for, sets. not saying bad and I haven't brought from them but.. I'm more okay with 'fan sculpts' of stuff which DOESN'T have official stuff being made.. when it's done when official stuff IS being made and licensed, it just kinda.. slightly distasteful when its basically set up as a rival.. Maybe if it was different enough like a different scale but... yeah.. when it's just that close its.. distasteful to me.

Just had a look at the crooked dice minis, the outlaws look mint, the town guards not so good.

I did start writing my own game loosely based on the TV show a few years ago, really should get round to finishing it.

Is this one'you'?

Yep, not as handsome though.

Didn't notice him when I looked, gonna pick him up next month. I like the Herne holding arrow mini as well. If I cave into my Robin Hood obsession and buy all of the minis from all ranges Id probably have enough for a full Bretonnian peasant archer army lol.

Must resist temptation.

CD pose for him is... not great... haven't got the more creeping nature.. that figure just looks like he is doing a time warp through a crystal maze while getting some shock treatment
