“Dwarf” cannon

that crew looks really familiar, but the cannon with that spiral barrel is not. You might have to wait till Lost mini Wiki is back up after the the weekend to find out
 
at least the seller was honest and pointed out the Cannon is a "WTF piece" . 35 pounds + shipping seems a little high for 5 models that need stripping though?
 
£7 a piece + P&P, not counting the Cannon is a bit on the top end but I would say probebly in the top end of okay. Haggling was good ^_^
 
£4.70 per figure, plus cannon.. Yep. If new you would want a bit cheaper but for them, no problem ^_^ I did pay.. a tiny bit more then I wanted recently for a pair of figures but.. unused 1989 models which I was happy enough with the price.. better cause they weren't army builders but characters so it wasn't a case of having to pay alot for a unit.
 
It’s a bit hunk of metal, currently having a Dettol bath, so will see if anything can be identified when remove the paint! Think it is some sort of large historical or third party human cannon…
 
OK, this is what emerged from behind the layers of bright paint… Not lead or pewter, no identification stamping. Signs of filing on the metal. Someone maybe cast it from a plastic toy or was it originally a toy solder gun?IMG_0513.jpeg
 
that's.... flashing some memories... but what... mm.. ECW period design, Horse hitch... damn, you would think the corkscrew styling on the barrel would be a dead giveaway..
 
Ah, I might be getting somewhere.. That cannon barrel is most likely a French medieval "Pierrier à boîte" cannon. They are the only type I have found which have that 'twist' like effect on the outside, and it does look like it lines up as you can just about see where the breach loader is, though it is possible the erm.. 'handle' tip was cut off to put it on the new housing.
