Fantasy Sculpts

I still have a load more Fantasy greens but for the moment I am going to hold off posting them

The next new mini I post in here will be a Plague Ogre that is currently at the caster (resin)

quick question... huh? Pan, the satyr god of animals and stuff? as in the big time Victorian revival cult of Pan, which is why "The Wind in the Willows" was going to be called "The Children of Pan" until he was talked out of it? The Piper at the gates of dawn?... I don't see the connection.. What am I missing?
 
Ah. Guillermo del Toro... what i've seen of his work is.. very .... I think he has an ego where he thinks he is smarter then he is. It's not uncommon... Like "Oh, I'm gonna do a remake of this but I'm gonna make it all grim dark and the villain is really an abused child who it isn't their fault they are bad'.. all the common tropes since the 70s. Meant to hire some interesting visual designers thouh.

I think some friends of mine who do a horror review site have done some reviews on his work might have to go over some of them.
 
Personally? Ralph Bakshi. Not saying all his adaptations of work were fully faithful but he is a guy that has integrity. Spicy City didn't get a second series because of that and that was pretty good show. but... back to sculpts ^_^
 
I mostly just mean to suggest that the mouth model has a really nice, interesting, twisted, disturbing wrongness to it. A bit like the creature with the hand-eyes. Not your traditional gorey, but impressive in it's uncomfortable not quite rightness.

Yeah

With the shortage of good quality Greenstuff many sculptors switching to Brown Putty (not sure Brownstuff is applicable)

I know theres a few companies working on the recipe for Greenstuff but meantime theres been a definite switch to Brown putty as many of the old stocks of Greenstuff are not mixing well (they have yellow flecks/pieces in the sculpts). Unmixed yellow flecks on sculpts can cause problems in moulding (particularly when moulding for metal casts)

My understanding is that brown putty cures a little quicker and it sets harder (less flexible than greenstuff)
