Scratch built RT /40K Terrain & weaponry.

Fighelm

Baron
Carrying on the theme of stuff thrown together via whirlwind & tradesman levels of glue use.

This time RT /40K scenic, terrain & weaponry made by me. First up is scenic stuff: mostly scatter, barricades and shooting platforms. Made of balsa, wood, plastic, herb jar lids, pot lids, yoghurt pots, covid kits, old airfix acrylic paint pots, canon ink cartridge packaging, soy sauce tiny lids, electric junction bits, vitrix model square bases, lids, milliput sandbags, etc, etc, primed and painted up/dry brushed, inked...

Next up is Ultramarines random weaponry and bunker defences. Again, made from plastic bits. Salvaged cotton reel bobbins, wine corks, stolen airfix bits, sprue, wires, pen lids and empty cartridges, sewing beads as shell casings, or toy cannon. The anti-aircraft cannon even has a mobile sim card holder glued on with clear plastic window...Painted by my fair hand.
The minis are modern plastics either spares or leftovers, including (unused) hatches from a rhino.
So: An auto missile defence system, a scout sniper popping out of underground bunker, a bunker defense force, a remote controlled grenade launcher on sled runners

The scatter terrain is great. Brings back so many memories of collecting all sorts of interesting bits of packaging to turn them upside down and stick on some other random bits and pieces. Brilliant stuff.

Cheers Eric, me, I had fun making it, feels more authentic. Family have differing views :D My daughter and wife non-plussed when I had it all out on the kitchen table or it's all getting in the way. My two lads not bothered either way as they seen the stages of building(!) but their mates are happy with it for game play all laid out. They feel it's MORE real especially with gm'd backstory. Their experience is shop bought stuff / at the Warhammer shop 'paint & play', scenery well out of their (& our) price range!!! I don't have a 3d printer, so reuse/recycle ♻️ for me. They laugh when I say as kids we used old aerosol can lids, yoghurt pots , polystyrene & cardboard boxes, aquarium plants and stacks of books under sheets for terrain! 😂
