Scratch building...RT /40K

Part one: This time it's RT into current wh40k (advanced apologies to any purists out there). Some scratch built vehicles, tanks and dreadnought to follow. Made for myself, my eldest lad and his mates to play the oldskool RT and 8th into 9th ed wh40k. All this stuff was made from the bits box, old toy bits, random recycled ♻️ plastics, covid test kits, glue tops, gardening clips, old lego, proprietary computer cable ties, lids, pots, etc etc....i had fun snipping & glueing it together, & am now conscious that much was created under fug of glue vapour.

Used modern kits for gretchin/grots. Some old metal space orks for scale (heresay I hear, on square bases! So I could fit them snug on platform once painted up...).

First up, grot tanks. Questions on a postcard... (fired from a muzzle)

Part twoooo: Dreadnoughts.

These grots chucked them together with bits of all sorts plus sprues and some gardening clips. They may have requisitioned some other stuff from other kits... Anyhow.

Part trez: Mega (bigga/shootier/crunchier) Dreadnoughts or some such nonsense. Again, built with bits + an ork big boss fella sticking his (stoopid) head out of the top hatch along with his pet squig...

Part cuatro: Ork 'madmax' stuff. This next one is a take on a looted vehicle converted for every kind of wrongness and havoc. It's actually an old Britain Ltd's 'Deetail' Daimler Dingo (diecast 1/35 scale ww2 model I had as kid back in the70s I think) turned around & a proper job done on it... The big boss fella has also brought his pet squig, just to annoy the war trukk driver. Some of you Sharp-eyed kids may have noticed the big red nitrous cylinder for extra vooooom. I found that empty discarded laughing gas cylinder left by some local miscreant at the back garages on our estate. Et voila! .... & built it into the model (as you do). Oh & the decals off a panzer or something.

And finally (for now and the near future). Part visii: The big sod-off warwagon. Well some sort of interpretation of a belching ork monstrosity anyhoo. Totally scratch built this thing with glazers shims, bits of card, mdf, plastic bits and pieces, plus raided airfix model bits. May have nicked stuff off the kid's old action figures & toys(!)... And maybe some toy tyres. They won't know as it's all glued on now, disguised and painted :D. May have robbed some (spare) railings off a modern 40k chaos rhino as well. No one saw me do it. A modern plastic ork driving it though. Sucks, but not gonna chop a precious metal mini for the sake of that. The RT space orks raiders are stood proudly at the back surveying all that they are about to own, drive over & probably burn 🔥.

Wow, awesome scratch building. These are great. What did you use for the spiked railings on the large war wagon?

Cheers Eric! They were robbed off a Chaos rhino... bits left over as I had pimped it for my thousand sons faction- no 'gothick' accesorising for them. But the orks wanted them fitted to stop 'em falling off the back at high speed.
