Never get your dog clipped for the first time just before Christmas. Who'd have thought he'd get clipper rash on his ball sack? Cue trip to the vets for quick consultation and hefty bill. Thankfully, Mrs Sade has been volunteered do the honours while I hold him & feed her glasses of sloe gin.

I picked up the Steve Jackson's Sorcery! series for my Christmas read. Despite being an avid FF fan in my younger years I've never done these ones before.

Merry Christmas all, especially poor @Citizen Sade 's dog. Poor thing! I've been gifted the new Sharpe book, Sharpe's Storm. Well, I was buying it in Waterstones with my wife when she told me to hand it over so she could give it to me for Christmas. That's the same thing, right? 🤣

Bernard Cornwell Saxon series is meant to be good, all about the Saxon unification of England, so more medieval fantasy, but I can't say I have any interest in his work. I did get Yukito Kishiro' Battle Angel Alita: Last Order Omnibuses which I've wanted for some time. Read the first.. few volumes but haven't got them (Got the original series of course). I highly recommend his work despite the translation issues with name changes for some odd reasons (like why Gally was renamed Alita.. I just creates a plot hole but sigh, it happens). Stay the hell away from the yanky film though... as far as you can get.

Gave up on Wuthering Heights, was not getting on with it. I'll have another go in the future, maybe.

Did pick up Brian Jacques 'Martin the Warrior' for pennies (charity book pile in the local Tesco's), somehow there's now teeth marks in the cover and the rabbits looking shifty.

Got through Khare on thr 4th attempt yesterday. Only died once, but kept ending up at the gate with an incomplete spell. Also made a crack at Seven Serpents but got munched by a lake monster, will try agsin later.

Exactly the same story myself! Not sure quite why I missed it during my FF years, but managed to get hold of the books off ebay earlier this year. I've got as far as printing out my adventure sheet! .... so not that far.

Never tried Sorcery myself, not picked up a FF book in years either.
Might pick up a copy of Citadel of Chaos, was the first FF book I ever read.

Do people still keep the last page open in case you die so you can pick up from your last bad choice instead of starting all over again?

Finger in previous page is always my go-to position, but in this case I have tried to be better at doing it 'properly' and committing to my choices. The finger is in case I get a number wrong or (less likely in a FF book) there is an error in the book numbering. I try to map as I go as well, noting significant encounter numbers for future reference.
