Seeing them properly side by side like that is interesting. Yes the modern sculpts might be good and I guess technically more refined, but the originals have so much character. I think I only had a few of the metal human BB models. I had a few star player metal models and my brother had a metal dwarf team, whilst I did do my own Champions of Death by converting plastic skeletons and some mummies, but generally I was stuck with the plastics out of the box for my Reikland Reavers. One thing I wish in retrospect I'd bought were the cheer leaders.

Like the yellow/blue combination of the 2nd Ed team, the bright yellow looks more in the spirit of an NFL scheme?

I've got a few 2nd edition models that Paul kindly sold me last year propping up part of the lead pile somewhere! Otherwise there are a few newer (Greebo Games generally) teams lurking in the heap awaiting some TLC. The only team I currently have painted are some Skaven - which I think are 3rd edition.

No not my lettering alas, transfers from GW current Blood Bowl line. I've a fair few 2nd Edition teams. I'm ashamed two of them (Goblins and Elves) remain unpainted...lead shame. Shaven are a great team in 2nd Edition.

The second edition Dwarfs and Orcs are so much better in terms of character. The new Dwarf team is a little soulless and the orcs are just lacking the comedic villain feel. All the new teams are fantastic, just not so quirky and charming.

I think I just reverted the original scheme that was blue helmets and body with yellow pads, but could be wrong. Oh the joy and fun of Blood Bowl. Ranks up there with Space Hulk

Glad to see your autocorrect does the same amusement for Skaven mine does ... I eventually added skaven to the dictionary after re-reading one too many posts where I'd not noticed it sneak in there
