£75 lottery win
Bases, bases for everyone!£75 lottery win,
I'm actually slowly rebasing the Eldar I bought at auction that I was leaving as they are (painted by Robin Ewbank) a while back, so they are coming off 25mm rounds and going onto glorious hex bases! Not sure quite why, but I have a fondness of hex bases - not that I'm able to source original GW ones - that'd require a substantial lottery win of my own!the base sizes needed
Already used to bid on some Eldar.Bases, bases for everyone!
Oh? do tell... I've not got many of the physical models to check with but haven't seen much difference if any...One thing I am getting good at is noticing the subtle differences between the 1st and 2nd edition models especially dreadnoughts and war walkers.
Well the obvious change are the new weapons added to the arsenal, then you have the change to the artillery base 1st has a slim gav platform and also a 3 legged shielded and then by 2nd its a larger gav platform. Then with the dreadnoughts, there is a change to how the weapons are attached going from a small little adapter between the body and arm to it actually being part of the back pack and the shuriken weapons on arms is moved from being on top to being placed underneath. The last one I've noticed but am unsure if its an actual change is 1st edition war walker has plain looking weapon shields but the 2nd edition has a lot more going on but it could be that in the photos I've seen the shield parts have just been reversed ?Oh? do tell... I've not got many of the physical models to check with but haven't seen much difference if any...
As I'm really not sure about a colour scheme I can definitely see myself stripping them again if I'm not happy with my first attempt.
Trying on one then if I don't like move on to next and put that one in the dettol bath. My main issue is I don't do fine detail and these buggers are all fine detail !!!Eggs and grandmothers aside.
You say stripping them...?
Given your uncertainty are you not painting just one as a test, or are you going all in batch colour painting method and hoping for the best?
