Michaels 25mm WFB Stuff...

^_^; better explain context.. a Generation ship with the best and brightest of the dying Earth. However, after a a few Generations, something goes wrong and they... kinda degrade and the system they set up brakes down.. They can't read, the science officer is a religious nutter, the Captain is a 15 year old boy who names planets things like 'Planet Panties', the priest is a self censored pervert, most of the ship doesn't work... very fun book. But then, Rob Grant, as in the better of the two Red Dwarf Creators ^_^;

I'm sure I saw minis for the python Flagellants a few weeks ago. Gonna have another looksie on Google to see if I can find them again.

There were some official ones... a few years back... can't remember who by.. I do have an official Monty Python knight figure but.. that's not really the same thing (Zombicide did a Monty Python set, including the Knight with a chicken).

Oh.. just checked.. Studio Miniatures/Hayland appears to have.. interesting.. though I don't know why the Black Adder Characters in the range. and a couple of odd ones..

There's a bunch of non-Python film/tv references in there. I got the Blackadder figures with the Full Monty deal, but probably won't use them. If I were going to do Blackadder I'd do the tudor version, there are some great minis of those characters out there. Assault Group I think?

Back on this day in 2024 I decided to pause my 10mm WFB 3rd edition and have a go at 25mm like I played back in the 80's and 90's.

Switching from 10mm to 25mm meant starting entirely from scratch.
I had big plans at the start, I had intended to have both my small armies painted within a year.
That would be about 2 models per week.

With even the best will in the world that would have been tricky, some times you just don't feel in the mood, sometimes you want to but are too tired to paint well enough, sometimes you get ill.

Looking back it was ambitious, and then I had not factored terrain.
I have had to make/buy/collect all the terrain and so on.

Trees, hedges, walls, fences, fields, scatter, buildings etc.
These all take loads of time, especially as I make much of it myself from scratch.

So where am I so far?

The whole lot, still much left to paint:

The Undead, now this is a bit odd as some are mine and some are Samantha's and some we share, the non citadel stuff is hers and the Citadel is mine, but we share the Zombies.

It is not as much as I hoped in terms of figures, the terrain I had like a fool not thought about so that is all a bonus really.

Overall though I am pleased, the models are all painted to a standard that I am happy with, the buildings I am happy with and or proud of in some instances.
So whilst it has been slower than hoped, it is as pretty if not prettier than I thought it would be.

Let us see where we are in another 12 months time!!

You got this bro, it's gonna be worth it when it's finished.

Thanks, yeah it is a slog, I think the issue is I prefer making buildings.
BUT once the 'armies' are done then I won't need much in the way of figures and I can make terrain until I get bored and want to paint some figures.

I'd be pleased, looks pretty damn fine. I do so love the terrain pieces you made for this.

Thanks, I think it is a fair output?
I certainly could have made more with my time, I spend too much time watching crap on YouTube when I could be painting, but dossing about is so much easier.
