About time I posted some of my efforts here.

Despite having a sizeable lead pile, shamefully few of my painted minis are from my Oldhammer collection so far; having moved to other metal manufacturers since the mid/late '90s due to a parsimonious nature.

I painted these dwarves a couple of years ago to use for Frostgrave. The classic adventurers are combined with Foundry spellcasters, the treasure hunter from the Green Dragon box, a Marauder Hammerer, and a dog from Crooked Dice. This was my first (only to date) use of the slap chop painting method, which really was shockingly quick but pleasingly effective.

Really nice. Some proper characters going on there, think the scrolly wizard with his hand on his hat is my favourite.

The wings, the marble ball, and yes, the doggo (who looks a bit like an doggo who once kept me company . . . Why are rotties always depicted growling? They're usually such sweet dogs in my experience.) Anyway, lovely!

Yeah, I wanted a dark grubby look, inspired by the White Dwarf we all know and love.

Very nice, especially like the doggo.

It came with an Alsatian and a Doberman in a pack of three, nice realistic scale.

He's one of my favourites too, packed with character and lovely details, so matches the adventurers well.

Thanks, glad the iridescent wings and the ball got noticed, they're some little special touches to give the band some character.

I have those classic dwarf adventurers too! They are in the box to strip and repaint.
Have you considered another lighter dry brush before adding washes/contrast paint? Should help the colour stand out better.

Hi Brother Meredith, good tip. This was my first go at slap chop, all were drybrushed greyscale, can't remember if I went all the way to white. Then used first generation Speedpaints I picked up cheap, before touching up with a few highlights.

Great looking Dwarfs and slapchop seems to have worked really well. Surprised how much I like the dark flesh tone effect.
