Blanche - The Rise of Grimdark and Garrison miniatures

Can't say I do, but I've just started reading it myself! Although it's been buried under a few WDs and Warhammer Siege the last few days so I must get back to it! Was your copy a bit "dark" on the image printing?

technically, as is my understanding, they didn't HAVE a Conan range. They would have needed to get the rights to Conan the Barbarian, and they didn't, so it was more an 'inspired by'. As for which figures he did concept designs for.... no clue.. the sculpting.. while better then me by far, doesn't really grab me as being that fantastic so trying to use them to find which are based on Blanche's concert art.. no clue at all..

As has been widely commented before, the Amazon print on demand is not as good a quality as could have been, but can’t say it appears “dark”?

Ok, yes that would make more sense. This thread is just a little bit of fun conjecture unless anyone out there has more information. From my perspective, I can see his signature design aesthetic on some of them, e.g. the winged serpent and warriors scream out late 70s Blanche art.

To resurrect this thread, the range was based on Conan, but as with Minifigs, names were changed slightly. I had a few in my fantasy armies in the 70s and recently, thanks to the owner of the molds have been able to build some quite large forces. Attached are the Nemidians (Nimidians!)

In my mind Conan is set during an imaginary dark age, rather than knights in shining armour? Perhaps I need to look into the background more… :?
I think he was somewhat vague in his description of the troops covering quite a few "hundred" years, both my Minifigs and Garrison forces have a mix of from Medieval Knights to Egyptian chariots, on different sides of course, and of course the legendary Minifigs knights with 2 handed swords!

not quite everything goes ^_^ the Hyborian Age is a set time after the age of Atlantis (Conan is a direct descendant of Kull) and before a certain time in 'recorded' history.. problem is, Howard only wrote about 34 stories before and more people not only rewrote them, but added alot of stuff that wasn't there.. which is fine, but that's "fan fiction". You should see the rubbish that has been added to Lovecraft and Doyle ¬_¬ though of course, when it comes to Lovecraft, he and his friends put in references to each others works and used some themes from each.. don't always sit together well but oh well.
