when I'm doing buildings with glass windows, be they scratch built or lasercut (which is kinda scratch build) I like to use clear plastic sheeting which is from some old figure boxes and stuff where there is a thin but strong clear sheet. Reuse of such packing is good ^_^ you can by clear sheets for not to bad a price but when you can get the sheeting for free (with another purchase), it's even better..
If the window needs to be clear (or I want it to be, this works well. Just cut the rough shape and stick it on the inside of the building.
However, I'm doing a building where the inside is clearly visible (and accessible) so this method has a draw back. One way around it, is just to built up a bit of a frame on the inside. Fine, no problem.. but there are a couple of windows where this won't work. This is a modern day building where you have glass for the windows in a door.. can't stick a sheet of plastic on the inside cause you can see that. can't then build up a frame cause it's the inside of the door there.
I was wondering about trying to cut the plastic to size to fit into the holes but... this isn't amazing easy (though if it was, would it be worth doing?). So just wondering some peoples ideas on how they do such things if the need arises.
