Why are we so easily distracted ?

Is it just me - or is it part of the hobby.

I am working on a new Orc and Goblin army - told myself - keep at it until finished.

Start searching through boxes for stray old orc and gobbo figures.

I find these

I now have started searching for undead figures - and thinking I have enough for a good SBH army - or maybe start another Warhammer army .

I think the saving thing here, is the skellys will need stripping - so that should prevent the Gobbos being another unfinished project for now anyway .

Does anybody else suffer from this ?

No. Not a single half painted mini in my collection.
Certainly no half finished projects.
'Never start anything you are not going to finish' that's my moto.

:( :( :( :( :(

Totally agree with the sentiment Elfmaster - I don't have a complete army anywhere in my collection be that fantasy, sci fi or historical, I have armies, but I certainly don't have completed armies! ;) ;) ;)

Harry - I take it their all works in progress, yes?

Don't know what your talking about ... strange person I have never met before.

it's all one giant project! Just some bits happen faster than others

Obviously you've got a Necromancer, or some Undead Allies for your Orc Army.

Yeah I project jump alot, that way I tend to not get bogged down and find it a bore.

For example on my painting desk is a dozen or so projects from Outlaws and Banditos for DMH to Chaos Goblins and Foundry Fishmen

I have tons of unfinished and incpmplete projects.

Lot of the projects I "work" on is still lying around unpainted in blisters. But eventually I will get it all done... Or so I tell myself.

Sometimes I go over the collection and pick up half painted models or units and finish them.

I do actually have enough painted Blood Angels to play a game of 40K 2nd edition. But I don't consider the army finished, there is still lot of units, characters and vehicles to add and a project like that is kind of never finished.

I have managed to finish Warmachine armies in the past, but then I bought more models or ditched the armies.

Some minor projects might have been finished too, but stuff like a unit of Zoats, but then I suddenly needed a complete Tyranid army, so finishing one project often leads to new projects or such.

Surely nothing's ever completed? :) I think you have to be in the mood to do something justice, so if I feel like painting Fimm I will, if I feel like making a crazy AdMech tank I will. If I feel like making a crazy AdMech tank there'd be no point in me painting Fimm, I wouldn't enjoy it or do a very good job.

Another day and another distraction :?

Found some painted Citadel C series Militia figures -that needed some minor paint repair - so they have sneaked on to the painting table - and being a "repair" don't count as starting a new project ;)

Hopefully will get them tidied up and post in the Showroom later :)

Currently on the list of things to do:
Hobgoblin army with Half Orc allies for BOYL 2015 (might add in the Greenskins I didn't have time to paint for BOYL 2014)
28mm Warhammer Ahoy also for BOYL 2015
Shrine of Rigg - both building the thing and painting up numerous Amazons, Norse, Slann, Lizardmen and other Jungle Nasties
Trolltooth Wars - shopping list
Chaos warbands
Wood Elf Army - ironically the first Oldhammer project (before I even knew it was Oldhammer!) - still only got a handful of miniatures painted for this and check out the date!
Dwarf Allied Contingent
Empire Army
Dark Elf Allied contingent
Battle of the Five Armies and other 10mm fantasy stuff including Orc, Chaos, Undead, Empire, High Elf and Dwarf Warmaster armies as well as the Evil Men Indiegogo campaign when it arrives
All Quiet on the Martian Front (15mm Sci Fi game I went in on with a Kickstarter - sucker for HG Wells stuff!)
Eldar Pirates for Rogue Trader
Large Space Ork army for Epic
Various gubbins for Dr Who gaming including a load of Blacktree Russians and German Paratroopers for a Rutan/Sontaran scenario set on the Eastern Front during WW2
Painting all my Heroquest miniatures and tarting up my board and scenery
Bloodbowl Orc and Goblin team and beginnings of a Chaos team

All of which are started and many done to the extent that I can game quite happily with - none of which are anywhere near finished however!

You do know that the surest way to die early is to paint all the miniatures in your lead pile... ;)
