WHFB3e - What can ride a Temple Dog?

- So, ages ago, in a big bits box I got off a friend when I picked up a huge cygnar/cryx combined army for warmachine off of him, there were some random old goodies in there, one being the temple Dog. Now, I only have a copy of Warhammer Armies for WHFB3e and don't have the rules currently nor do I have time right now to grab a rulebook and sit and learn the system entirely (university starts Monday, in the middle of a bucket load of assessment work from the zoo I've been studying at for the past 2 years also) but I wanted to know who can ride the Temple Dog and by that extension what can ride any of the beasts in the beastiary? I know there's good, neutral and evil alignment and figure that good+neutral or neutral+evil can go in the same army, so what can and can't ride the temple dog? A more extreme example - Can I plonk a Zoat on a Temple Dog (the hilarity of the image amuses me so!)? Or a Fimir Warlord?

- Also, whilst here, again no rulebook to look it up directly, in the army list what does a +1 or +2/3 etc shock elite/ranged unit mean? Is it +1 to hit/+2 etc or another +1 to something else.

No one can ride them, they're useless so send him to me ;) Actually, samurai, hobgoblins and dark elves can ride them.

In Warhammers Armies book the +1 shock ect just shows you how good they are (And some GM's may want to limit elite units). Look at the stats and compared the troops listed as +1 and +2 ect and your'll see the they already have better/changed stats.

2 Types of elites, missile elites and elites.

Missile Elites:

+1 = +1 BS
+2 = +1 BS, +1 I
+3 = +1 BS, +1 I, +1 S
+4 = +1 BS, +1 I +1 S, +1 A

Elites:

+1 = +1 WS
+2 = +1 WS, +1 I
+3 = +1 WS, +1 I, +1 S
+4 = +1 WS, +1 I +1 S, +1 A

Thanks for the answers everyone. Theottovonbismark, thanks for making the elite units clear for me, my mistake was reading it all at 3am (it's 3:04am again haha) and not noticing real differences between statlines on +1 shock elite and +2 shock elite then trying to compare between armies, heh.
