When did GW Sheffield first open?

Hi guys and gals, can anyone tell me what year the Sheffield GW first opened please? It must've been early to mid 1980s and advertised in a White Dwarf of that era. I've just picked up the promo model that was given away at the opening and want to have a definite date for my nerdy records.
