What's your favourite Oldhammer rule?

Mine is the rules for Alcoholism (applies to halflings and norse berserkers) in 2nd Edition. Basically if there is a pub on the terrain, 2D6 vs. willpower, they invade the pub and stay there until closing time whilst completely ignoring the rest of the battle. I think it says a lot about the attitude of the game!

Two rules, but they are related:

that "Slann can cross rivers, streams and lakes without suffering movement penalties"
and
"Slann occupying a river, stream or lake are treated as being in hard cover and are able to use blowpipes as normal".

Both rules fit the concept of the Slann, have been useful and fun, and caused opponents a sudden shocking realisation that the river in front of them is of no concern to my army! :)

I like the one where you can drag out cowardly characters who are hiding in the back ranks if you are winning the combat (3rd ed. Rules).

Caber Tossing is really well thought out. Scarily so. I'm also liking the Evil Eye from 1st Ed. Citadel Compendium "Evil Eye".

If any figure comes with in 4" of this creature it has a 50% chance of being unfortunate enough to me et it 's gaze. This will thoroughly screw up the figures Karma, and he will be subject to a disadvantage modifier of 1 on all dice rolled for as long as the creature with Evil Eye lives.

Yeah, it totally screws up your Karma, maaaan :ugeek:

For me its the Free hack! love this rule....as well as push back...no units just randomly disappearing as in new editions...unless you cut them all down!

WHFB 3Rd Ed

Giant frogs who succeed in a tongue (missile) attack automatically swallowing any man sized targets, killing them outright. My dream is to take out a Bretonnian character model like this!

Favourite rule would be a roll actually :

Amongst all the really cool and powerful stuff like Chaos lord, you can find limb transferance and those kind of stupid mutations, having such rolls (and dozens of them on top of that) really makes the difference compared to having a positive bonus no matter what in the newer rules.

Actually the whole table is my favourite rule.

Not particularly Oldhammer but I always loved the 6th edition Storm of Magic slayer army rule "Look Snorri, Trolls!" for no other reason than the name.

Cheers
