What did you do?

I know this isn't strictly Oldhammer, but, it may possibly lead others to take it in that direction.

I thought it would be amusing/shocking to share with each other the travesties we may have visited upon our beloved childhood books here.

The idea came to me a few days ago while I was looking through my bookshelf. I came across this;

My father gave this book to me way back in 86. I loved it, it had great artwork & big arse robots.....what else could a young boy want? Apart from girls :mrgreen:

So, anyway, I started having a read through of it again -for old times sake- when I came across this "re-imagining" I perpetrated upon one of the artworks.

Behold!!!!

Look at how much I "improved" it with my Derwent's ;)

So, would anybody else care to share the defacements they may have visited upon their childhood books here with everyone?

I took apart my first copy of the WH40K Rogue Trader rulebook back in 87, thinking I could 3 hole punch it and keep it in a binder (even though its binding was still good). Sadly my efforts failed and it ended up being tossed (and I had to buy a new copy). I butchered that poor book.

I threw all my Palladium RPGs (and D&D basic set) in the bin in the late 90's.

From memory this included most of the TMNT books, Robotech, and a heap of RIFTS :shock:

I notice those Mechs in those pics there are all Macross :)

The binding on my 40K book fell apart, so I holepunched it and put it in a ringbinder, which led to cutting up my WD collection and binding them. To be honset GW kept telling me to do that, so I blame them.

Codex Astronomicon - the chapter dividers are new, but the folder and contents are original.

Other than that, and filling in some Fighting Fantasy character sheets in pencil, my gaming stuff was reasonably well looked after.
