How would you resolve the initial move of Ball & Chain Fanatics and Plague Censer Bearers in your games?

When they are released at 8", do you first place the model (mounted on a 2" diameter circle) in front of the parent unit and then roll 2d6 for the distance or do you roll first and then measure the distance traveled from the parent unit.

In short, do you need to roll a 6 or an 8 to hit the enemy unit?

I've always played it that you measure from the front of the parent unit, ie it takes an 8 to reach the enemy. Only needing a 6 on 2D6 makes them a bit too powerful I think.

Yup, total agreement.

Thanks, measuring from the unit sounds reasonable. It's been a while since I've used either.
