WFB Third Edition, difference in printings.

Hello all,

As you can probably gather I am new to Oldhammer on most fronts, in fact I have just acquired the HB 1987 rule book and Armies.

My question is one I actually came across that someone else had posted, unfortunately there was no reply to it and none I could subsequently find:

There are differences between the 1987 Rulebook and the 1991. I have only seen the later in PDF, however along with some inconsequential advertisements the Rule Summary Handout section is very different, as well there is no 'fallen giant' template in the the 1987 and no small mortar template in the 1991.

The question, other than a reworking of the handouts - clearly for ease of use, were there any changes to the rules themselves I should be aware of going forward.

Long road ahead here, just making sure I am heading in the right direction.
Many thanks,
Jim

I remember cutting out a lot of little bits of printed sheets and stocking them over various sections throughout the book. Fiddly, and yet somehow satisfying at the time. I would be very much surprised if they put it out again in the original error ridden format. I have a second copy somewhere = I ought to find it and see if it is different from the earlier version I have. Doing so involves a trip into the attic and a lot of shifting of boxes!!

Hi Padre, thanks for the reply.

I should mention right off the top that I do not have these WD issues to check directly, I am going off of a kindly supplied list and the equally kindly supplied http://wiki.oldhammer.org.uk/v/Warhamme ... rd_Edition

There were 'cut and paste' erratas for Slaves to Darkness in 107, one for Armies in 108, and a replacement page for Armies for the updated Bretonnians in 137, but no errata for the 1987 Rulebook mentioned that I have come across so far in my looking.

I have figured like you if there was one they would have corrected it in the body of the text in the 1991 printing, along with the new tear out summary sheets mentioned above. What is even more odd is there is apparently a rules summary/playsheet published by Priestley in WD 144 which is December 1991! I wonder if it is the same one in the new Edition.

Ah well, best to just get on with reading what's before me!
