WH40k:RT We Apologise for the Delay

Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader
We apologise for the delay

A shuttle from Spanglish Town Uplift Port to St. Thomas Orbital Station has been hijacked. It sits on the tarmac at the Uplift Port whilst negotiators listen to the hijackers demands and an Assault Team from the Spanglish Town Constabulary prepares to take back control of the shuttle.
The hijackers are demanding that a shuttle pilot be sent aboard, indicating that the allocated pilot has managed to hide himself amongst the passengers.
Below is a copy of the last image captured by the shuttle's onboard camera.

*Please note, in order to get the statline code to work I had to remove all ½ values and the - used to indicate the Robot's unused Personal characteristics. This means some of the M values given do not accurately reflect the penalties for wearing armour; I'm sure you'll be able to work it out.I also had to give inaccurate Points Values, but we didn't use these anyway.*

Battlefield

The table should be large enough to accommodate the shuttle at its centre and a perimeter of barricades surrounding it.

The Constabulary can deploy as they see fit behind the barricades from where they can advance on the shuttle. The game proper begins when the Assault team opens the shuttle hatch and/or breaches the hull unless the Constabulary do anything sufficiently noisy to attract the attention of the hijackers.
The Hijackers deploy on the shuttle along with their hostages.
A suggested layout for the interior of the shuttle is included, along with a schematic for the Constabulary’s bio-scanner read out.

Special Rules

At the start of the game the GM (or Hijacker player, in the absence of the GM) should roll a D4 in secret, the result is the number of turns before the pilot is identified, unless the Constabulary boards the shuttle before this. From the next round onwards the pilot makes a Leadership test (target 7) to resist agreeing to fly the shuttle.
Once this Ld test is failed the Constabulary will become aware the shuttle is being prepared for take off. This will take a further D3+1 rounds, and can occur even if the shuttle is boarded, so long as the pilot is alive and in the cockpit with at least one hijacker.

Any member of the Constabulary can override the shuttle’s hatch to gain entry to the passenger and cargo hold.

AC IL-2122’s las-cutter can be used to breach the shuttle’s hull and gain access to any part of the interior. This will compromise the shuttle’s ability to leave planetary atmosphere, and everyone still on board will die if the shuttle takes off after its hull has been breached.

DS Grisham’s communicator is required to issue remote orders to AC IL-2122, otherwise a member of the Constabulary in base contact can issue orders. Should DC Grisham’s communicator be neutralised and there is no member of the Constabulary in base contact with AC IL-2122 then a Hijacker in base contact can make an Int test to hack the Automated Constable and give it a set of orders for the next turn.

Once gunfire starts a collective Panic test should be made for the hostages each round. If they fail then each will move up to their movement of 4” in a random direction. Either side can seek to give the hostages simple orders (e.g. ‘Get off the shuttle’, ‘Don’t move’), this requires a Ld test from the character issuing the order.

^That is a sweet scenario! I'm mighty tempted to give it a whirl myself. The shuttle model is a nice touch, but my word is that going to be a difficult battlefield! I feel sorry for the hostages in advance.

yes, it's likely to be a short firefight.
one point to note, which i hadn't realised until we were playing, is that none of the hijackers have weapons that can hurt the robot. i altered their vp's to hacking the 'bot rather than taking it out of action to try and counter this somewhat. an alternative approach, of course, would be to give one of them a more powerful weapon.

Tight firefight, never played with so many non-coms, would be very interesting. I'd be tempted to give some Victory Points to the hijackers for taking off.

Is that a vintage Star Wars Rebel Transport? nice!

it is indeed; a remnant of my childhood rescued from my parent's attic when my dad died. it proved ideal for this task.
