Looks great! Haven't started reading yet, but the miniatures and artwork are a feast. I think I might finally paint up my Grom following this.

Looks like a load of work was put into it for sure.
On a personnal note I don't think I'm that interested in the "end of times" aspect of your project (but this only because I'm not intersted in the whole "end of times" thing to begin with) but any scenario or narratives to serve as the backbone for a camapign are worth considering so i'll have a careful read for those.
The gaming material being purposed for late editions (from what I read), this may have less appeal to Oldhammerers than to some but a few things here and there (from a diagonal read) seem worthy of porting to early editions.

Had a brief look through and what a treat; plenty of beautiful art and miniatures and a proper authentic oldskool feel.

Although I've never been a big enough goblin fan to want an army I do look forward to reading through this wonderful creation.

Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff. Some lovely miniatures and fantastic artwork. Also good to see someone taking ownership of the current incarnation of their hobby, and to such high production values.

I'm not sure if some of the content quite works for me though. Goblins are the most cowardly of all the creatures in WFB after all, to my mind they only fight when they've overwhelming odds (and ideally the enemy's mostly dead already), they're cornered like rats in a trap, or are herded into it. I know Grom's an established character and everything but I see a goblin 'warlord' taking on some tiny village rather than anything that might stand up to him. I'm trying to work out in my mind how to set up the backstory for a goblin warband, once I've painted up a few more orcs, but to be honest I'm struggling with the concept!

Enough about me though - congratulations to you again on your work, and may all your ambushes go as planned!

Thanks for all the comments.

Grumdril,

Grom's original story in modern WFB was written by Bill King and appeared in the 4th edition High Elf army book. According to GW, Grom raised, perhaps, the mightiest greenskin coalition ever. Usually described as all Goblins or mostly Goblins, Grom could not be defeated in the Old World and sailed to Ulthuan. The point with Goblins (and Orcs) is that they are so numerous if they actually work together they become unstoppable simply due to vast numbers. In that regard, it is their own innate bickering and animosity that is their typical undoing. GROM was able to unite the Goblins and win battles like not other Goblin before him (or after him), he's an anomaly.

Thanks for the comment,

Kevin

Apart from starting the Goblin Wars, Grom is now chiefly remembered for the Atrocities of Zhuf Field. Many Dwarf captives were taken on this occasion, but all were doomed to a horrible death. On every day for the following month Grom had a hundred Dwarfs brought before him. He personally sat on each captive until the victim died of suffocation.

I hope that part of Grom's history is properly reflected in your book.

interesting bit here:

"Grom was killed in the first onslaught on the Dwarf fortress of the Middenheim. From then on they were led by the regimental Champion, Crud Longbone. Crud was an unusually tall, thin and lanky Goblin with a distinctively long nose. Crud and the remainder of Grom's guards were exterminated at the final battle of the war at Mad Dog Pass."

Phreedh and Dooz,

The background you guys posted is indeed awesome, that was the Grom fluff prior to 4th edition. I've written about GROM before and in one story I wrote I did have him sitting on Elves and suffocating them in a nod to the old fluff. Sadly, that story is not in Warhammer: GROM though!
