Vallejo Model Color (sic) lids.

Any one having problems with the Lids on Vallejo 'Model Color' (sic) 17ml range?
Unless I'm being VERY VERY careful (and then I'm not 100% sure I did it right), when I screw the lids on, they start to split.. which is kinda not a great thing for paint lids. I've had to patch up a couple already... and all seam to split around the same place, just a bit lower then the top of the grip.

Just wondering really.. and how people deal with it..

Not noticed the actual lids splitting, but have had a number of the dropper tops split. I just store them separately standing up so paint doesn’t accumulate in the lid.
They have changed the design they use on more recent versions of the range, so perhaps these were design flaws they were aware of.

Like Brother Meredith I've had the nozzles split on some of my paints, but never a cap. You can generally buy empty bottles (and lids) fairly cheaply from ebay/amazon and the like - so you can probably replace them easily enough. Are they the new or old designs? The new designs are certainly made from different plastics, but I've not had any woe with either. Maybe you've landed with a bad bad batch - are they all from one set?

not all from one set. All brought separately over some time.. maybe roughly all 1-2 years old. all White capped. same kinda lid as Army Painter have just different colour plastic (though the plastic feels different).

wonder if its just me being heavy handed.. I don't play much but you should see me at Darts..

the nozzles kinda annoy me at times.. I either squirt out too much paint, so it wastes some, I it ends up getting paint all over the nozzle and it leaks out when I put the lids on. Though the it mostly does that with metallics and I think the ones I got are Army Painter.

That sounds like you've got some badly mixed paints, I've a few old Game Colour ones that are not well mixed that clog and don't "neatly dispense", it's those ones of mine that tend to have the split nozzles. You might want to try doing some serious mixing of the contents of those you have trouble with, maybe add some more medium to the paint.
