Unknown Orks - Help Wanted

Cyroz1

Serf
Hi All,

I bought a lot of 8 Orks.
They were unboxed and I can't read much more than 'Grenadier 95" engraved on one of them.
Maybe someone have seen those before and have an idea who manufactured them?

Thanks Phreed,

I am astonished by the speed to reply on that!
Glad to discover this brand as well.

The models are great.
You can see how they were modeled almost you would do yourself with Green Stuff.

(Nice Blog by the way)

Yep, the heads are not top-notch quality sculpting, you can definitely see the "GS sausages", but they somehow have a particular charm and seem to get inspiration from the goblin master (huge upper lip) which is always nice I guess.

Evil Sunz of course heh.

I quite like these orks, Hmm might get a few at some point.

Lovely painting Cyroz1.

Despite the crudity of some of the sculpting, those are quite appealing. They remind me of the Marauder Orks.

Were they part of the Shockforce line or something? According to the link they were bought up by Johnny Lauck/Mega Minis which sadly (very sadly in my opinion. I loved that store. It was full of the weirdest, most eclectic models) stopped trading last year.

Does anyone know if they are currently for sale somewhere?

Great paint job!

And while I'm not a fan of how the ears are sculpted, I still say these are really fun models. I'm a sucker for orks of all types of course.

Thanks for sharing these!

No idea, but you could check with Johnny on Facebook, I think he's still keeping tabs on his Mega page.

You KNOW you have to get this guy:

Actually, I'm surprised you haven't already polished that turd - the Paul-factor is off the charts! Just look at that portable home entertaintment system on his back, complete with shoulder mounted projector and Xbox controller in hand! :)

Y'know, its sometimes genuinely surprising to see how well someone that you only know via the internet actually knows you. Of all the images on the page, that was the figure that pressed my "want" button the most. By a mile.

Had I known of the figures existence before now I would indeed have tried to get my hands on one. It is exactly the sort of weird miniature that I love to find and paint. It scores one hundred of your puny human per-cent on the Paul-o-meter.

Now you are just teasing. I knew that I wanted this OOP limited appeal niche product before you said that. Now I NEED it.

I dropped Johnny a line. If he doesnt get back to me there then I will email him. He was always a very helpful and nice guy to deal with, so I am sure if he can help then he will.

I genuinely miss Mega Miniatures. The miniature world is a lesser place for the passing of its bizarre ranges :(

Some books are easier to read than others! I have no idea where you stand on the situation in the Ukraine, but I was pretty convinced from the get-go that the mini in question already had been mentally assigned a task in Inquisitor Verhoeven's outfit.

Yup, it's a damn shame. I was mailing Johnny a bit just a few weeks before he announced the closing down and he was talking about additions to the dungeon furniture ranges, maybe commissioning some new models from Ochmann etc, so I was very surprised. Glad I managed to get almost everything I wanted before he pulled the plug.

Probably yep.
Between, the "Nightface Clan" are certainly the Bad Moons versions with this fellow for example with the typical hood.

They are OK in a simple charm sort of way. The Marauder Orks are much better though.

Not that surprised you can't buy them any more.
