Hi All,
My army is mostly all preslotta Gobs/Hobgobs of a few manufacturers (the only slottas are later C36's) and I have a regiment of what I call "Ferals", approx 10 minis each of Mithril hobgobs and Gobslob bugbears, with 3 True bugs (Essex and citadel) and 3 Ral Partha ogres, led by my last and most precious find, Gyokurinti.
I love the ogres as they are of 1982 manufacture and are minimal (furs/loin cloths) exactly what I want for a Feral grouping, one is unarmed and has a grappling or wrestling stance. It made me think of grappling rules as I envisage him trying to get hold of an enemy to break arms or legs, even a neck! Such a rule would be useful for unarmed early troll miniatures etc too and add a different dimension to attacks.
So without knowing if there are rules for grappling, I have come up with these simple rules for WFB:
Announce grappling intension.
Should an unarmed large humanoid score more than one hit on the same target in the same round it is deemed to have caught the target and will try to break the neck or a limb. Hits do not cause wounds in a grappling round.
Roll for location (1-back, 2/3 arms, 4/5 legs, 6-head) then roll to wound, only once, using opposing strength stats. A successful head attack - is fatal, back attack - is paralyzed, 2-5 is half move and loss of sword or shield arm. The target cannot to anything but try to free themselves by testing strength as in to wound each round.
What do you think?
Best.
