Totally pointless but I thought interesting for some reason

Lord
been working on a custom box for my HeroQuest sets and.. well.. bits aren't quite right (I can't cut a straight line to save my life) but it's fine.. then found out i had screwed up the dimensions a bit but was able to deal with it.. now I'm just trying to make sure everything fits.. I got some foam trays (I was going to make some myself but while looking for the right foam, found some at a good price) which to store the figures for HeroQuest and Advanced HeroQuest all together (why not?).. but.. I have 2 A4 binders with copies of rules. My family set of HeroQuest has all the UK add-ons (yes.. from the time, while I say family set, more Fathers, but has HeroQuest, Kellers' Keep, Return of the Witchlord, Against the Orge Horde, Wizards of Morcar and the Adventure Design Kit.. didn't know about the 'Advanced Quest' which i now have) but in A4 size to make the a bit easier to read and stuff.. Also got copies of white dwarf etc missions. They kinda fit but with the figure trays.. might not be enough room for everything... should have made the box a bit bigger but like i said, i screwed up the dimensions a bit (Despite taking measurements and making a 3D basic model so i could check everything out).

Anyway.. also made some nice little boxes for some parts, like a box for the dice, and I'm putting the doors in a box (not assembled for a few reasons) and i just noticed.. the door plastics from Advanced Quest are shorter then the others from the two 'normal' sets.. (which are both second edition as they don't have the Maze map, but the Trial). The original door plastics are 15mm tall but the advanced quest ones are 11mm tall. that 4mm is very noticeable.. I did think it was odd that I remember the card doors sitting flush on the base, but on this other set they don't but.. this is interesting to me.. for some reason, they decided the remould the doors with a tiny bit less plastic.. maybe to cost match the included 'Dark Company' (men-at-arms) but.. don't know.. just thought it was kinda interesting.

oh and despite laying out some door plastics, taking measurements, working out the best way i could think to stack them... my box for the doors is too small.. I can fit about 34 or so in there (plus the card inserts).. kinda more then enough.. I guess my big Heroquest box doesn't need to include EVERYTHING I have... though the extra minis are very useful. though... I have one mission which has 2 gargoyles + gargoyle wandering monster..

Gargoyle as a wandering monster? If you aren't playing the European edition that's very nasty of you!
The best thing about Heroquest is having your own unique set. :)

It was in a Brazillian quest, one of the Dragao Brasil ones I couldn't find a translation of, so I did it myself and reformated it. Interesting, there are two 3 mission quests which.. the main boss is beaten on the second quest, and the final one is a follow up. Not bad but interesting (in a way, a bit like Ogre's horde). You are against the Evil 'Lengrati', the Mage of Sleep.. who is also a shapeshifter.. which means an interesting mechanic.. It doesn't say how often it can be done (which is something I want to make some notes on) but He transforms into an identical copy of any of the Heroes, complete with current stats, equipment/spells. Any Hero other then the copied one, needs to roll a combat die before each attack to see if they have hit Lengrati, or their companion. Missions two and three have a Gargoyle as wandering monster.. I'm not on olde inn or something But I'll probebly post them here when I'm happy enough with them. Though should they be in the 'Missions & Scenarios' forum section, or resources? .. not quite Oldhammer but.. It's HeroQuest.. That's close enough.. even with my no-where near expert translations skills (not really good at the translation side but not bad at the editing and stuff side), with use a few different online translators (never use just one, need a few to cross check things, and often I will then double check a word with a dictionary like translation source to double check), I can see the original has some weirdly written bits (like there is the intro story, the first two missions, and then on the third mission, it drops the name of the kingdom which wasn't revealed in the intro story or anywhere else.

The other Quest.. I'm a bit iffy on the name of the main villain but.. it might be because of names sounding different in difference languages but.. "evil Commander Chups"... should his figure be sucking a lolly?

Please feel free to pop them there when you are happy with them. Alternatively if you're providing them more as contained downloads (eg a PDF or something) then here: https://forum.oldhammer.org/forums/scenarios.52/ might be better. I created that with a view to copying over the forum's dropbox stuff (see https://forum.oldhammer.org/threads/forum-storage.1140/) since space is less of an issue now and I'd rather have it all in one place! I've not gotten around to doing that partially because after I'd done it I realised most of the stuff in the dropbox was already in the Missions & Scenarios forum so left it to ponder a bit!

It's a bit basic and I made a number of mistakes (like I got some foam trays for the figures cause I was looking to make them myself and with what I had.. it was better and cheaper to just buy some.. but the size means bit of wasted space and I can only really fit one of my binders of HQ missions.. which is a copy of all official EU missions.. Not the one which has US missions, plus WD etc. but I'll try to get some photos ^_^
