while I have a copy of ... I'm not sure which early epic one it is, got second hand years ago (well, not really me but 'family' copy but the figures appear to be... someplace) I've never really got much into epic but the main things I'm wondering about is the fluff with the Titans.
As I remember it, they are highly inspired by things like Battlestar Galactica (not the crap remake which butchers the whole concept) in that the Titans are huge battle machines built but due to the trouble and really, the need, there were only a limited number made and then, over the years with various things, they get destroyed and their numbers decrease. Unlikely Galactica, they weren't assigned to Chapters, but were all owned by various parts of the Cult Mechanicus. As a result, you won't get a ultra marine, Space Wolf or Blood Angel titan, but each titan is assigned to various forge worlds of the Adeptus Mechanicus, which have there own kinda chapters. So the Mars based Titans are one scheme, and then different ones are part of different forge world 'groups/chapters' which are then kinda on loan to Space Marine Chapters if there is a great need for them.
Although I've seen other bits (I think 2ed Space Marine) which kinda say there are tons of them and they are still made etc. so.. I'm not sure at all. I'm interested in fluff for them and what groups (with schemes really) were around up to say 1994, or around that era.
Anyone know various fluff on these things?
