I love the John Blanche paints. The color choices are fabulous.

[mention]The Serene Badger [/mention] points out, they are part of the Fanatics range. Some of them have a place within the “flexible triads” that Army Painter markets.

My experience with the John Blanche paints is causing me to shift over to most of my paints to Army Painter, as I like the convenience of getting my paint primarily from the same place, with a shipping option that is for me domestic.

I have not been impressed by the Army Painter shades I have experimented with so far, and will continue using GW washes.

I tried one of the speed paints, blood red, which was the first step in those wings and which I quite liked.

I should also add, that the variance between what an Army Painter paint looks like on the website, versus in the bottle, versus on the palette, seems like the most I’ve ever encountered. Of course this could also be just my own flawed perception.

I'm not a great fan of the shades, but tend to use the speed paints for shading and glazing which I find works quite well, especially thinned down a bit.

I find the triads really helpful too as it reduces the amount of times I need to try to remember and recreate shades I've mixed myself
