The Great Martian War 1913-17

Not really Oldhammer I know, but some of our esteemed members have an unhealthy obsession with all things Martian so I thought I'd mention this alternate history documentary that was on the History Channel on Monday. Catch it if you can - the black & white footage of the conflict is great.

I watched this the other night and it was interesting.

I think that the effects were in keeping with the theme of the program and didn't jar when inserted into the old World War 1 footage that was used.

I really liked the concept of "The Vanished" which really gave a more horrific edge to the show.

They superimposed aliens over footage of actual servicemen fighting? not sure I like that idea, seems a bit disrespectful to me.

Anyway, here's some minis from Forgotten Front's Great War of the Worlds range. Liking the martians, remind me of Peter Andrew Jones aliens.

Most of the footage I remember was of bombed out townscapes with the Martians striding over collapsed buildings. The warmachines looked superimposed.

If it wasn't genuine footage then it was an exatrodinary replication.
