I have decided I need to work on human faces. Creatures are ok, the human likeness is far more difficult. I also usually work in stages, making a basic skull then fleshing out with tiny bits at a time but I have decided to challenge myself to sculpt a head in one piece, starting from a single ball of green stuff and allowing myself only 15 minutes for it.
This is my first result, sculpted wednesday night onto a Slaaneshi medusa-type body (it's such a recent model I don't know exactly what it is! ) I liked but to replace a head which I didn't. Quite pleased with the first try. It's a little lacking definition, blame the poor lighting, but happy with the mouth considering I had to rework it 3 times. In future weeks I will video my efforts and stick them on the oakbound website. Hopefully they will chronicle a growing competence, trying a range of different types of head and playing with a number of mediums and tools.
