The Sorceror Malgor the Grey and the Ostland Incursion
In the not too distant past, a Magician from Altdorf left the College of Magic out of frustration at the limits placed upon him by those in charge. Seeking more power, his thirst for knowledge was boundless and it drew him far from the Empire. First to Kislev and then into the Northern Wastes in search of a book known as the 'Tome of Drax'. The book he sought was reputed to be a vessel of great power and arcane lore, able to turn any budding magician into a powerful sorceror. Of course, for a young wizard the draw was irresitible and his quest for the book took him far into the northern wastelands and eventually into the Chaos Wastes themselves.
The young magician was never seen again, but some years later a Sorceror emerged from the wastelands bearing a book. While the young mans name has long been forgotten, the Sorceror called himself Malgor the Grey. No one knew from where he came, though to Imperial Officers captured during the incursion he often wined and dined with them, talking at length of Altdorf and asking how it had changed over the years, before having the men executed. The one Officer who escaped his clutches, though some would say his escape was entirely at Malgor's design to spread word of his coming, told of Malgor being a polite, well spoken man, who spoke fondly of old Altdorf and its popular places to visit. His dicussions were more like a visiting traveller than a marauding warlord. But his brutality was always seen on the battlefield and in the mass scarifice of prisoners taken or allowing his men to feast upon those captured in orgies of violence and destruction. His rampage thorugh Ostland was marked by extreme carnage and violence till its eventual end.
But before we speak of the incursion we must go back, back to when Malgor the Grey first found his followers and warband and how he played the Chaos Gods against each other and only stayed true to his one dark lord - Malal...
