The 48 of Jes Goodwin

The first blister of miniatures I bought was at the age of 11, in the Librairie Donjon in downtown Québec city.
It contained 2 Nurgle champions and they really suffered from my inexperience of the time!
In the past years I have been looking around for opportunities to gather each and every model from these pages or the Red Citadel Miniatures Catalogue 2:

http://solegends.com/citcat19912/c20265rcchslaanesh-02.htm

http://solegends.com/citcat19912/c20267rcchtzeentch-02.htm

And I have to say I am pretty close with only 7 champions missing!

So as you may guess, this WIP is about adding some color to end up with an army based 4 chaos warrior units, one for each god.
And here is the first one!

So, who's next?
Well it is this guy:

And he does not come alone, he is the leader of "Les décharnés", which Google Translate refer me to "The Emaciated". ;)

Ever wondered what happens to bloodletters who cowardly evaporate after a bad combat result?
THIS! Centuries of imprisonment, lost in the warp, deprived of fresh blood until they turn to dust and ashes!
Khorne himself is convinced that if they are thirsty enough, they might get the motivation to come back to their master with an honorable tribute.

So this is an idea of the color tone I'm looking for, hopefully I will complete a full rank before the new year...
Also, seeing all the great stuff on this site (I call this positive pressure), I will crush that atrocious icone and make it a proper Oldhammer style banner

Ol' Jes sure hit the mark with them champions. Some of the sweetest models of all of GW's output. I am a Nurgle man myself but the snaketailed manboob-champ is perhaps my Goodwin favourite.

Congrats on the collection!

Same goal here with nearly as much left to collect and a bit more than half left to paint... some of them are not form Jes, and therefore I don't count them in the lot
I really like teh background behind "les décharnés", take some furious Khorne demons and make the go mental, what's not to like on this?
Loking forward to seing the rest.

And I'm another one with the same goal but I've a loooong way to go yet.

Jakob Warptail is my all time favourite miniature and was a big part of me embarking on the project.

I really like what you've done with Zellekh, I don't recall having seen the back of the miniature before having only seen the front from the Citadel Combat cards :)

I shall be following this thread with great interest.

Cheers

Well, second guy completed... out of 47 actually ;)
The next one will be the Khorne warrior with axe and power fist.

Whatever he says, don't let him touch the mana pool...

Yep same here, I have the exact same goal ! (I think you can cross some references out though, the tzeentch champion with 3 arms and staff is not from Jes I think...) I suggest you paint them by batches. I painted all my nurgle champions in a go and all my Khorne champions in a row too, eveen if you don't apply the same colour scheme, you speed up the process and you tie them aesthetically.

Bloodletterhead looks really good,, waiting for the others !

You are definitely right about saving time by painting in batches!
But as much as I can be organized as an automation engineer, I am, in many ways, very chaotic when it comes to this hobby ;)
So one miniature at a time is for me a good way to not end with 12 half painted miniatures on my desk (which is also a New Year resolution  )

As for the references, I have no idea who sculpted the other miniatures I posted on this thread so far, I will have to do my homeworks...

Anyway, thanks everyone for such encouraging responses!
