Taliesin's Table

Hello all! I really enjoyed posting my pictures of completed miniatures and terrain pieces for my Blood in the Valley scenario, so I've decided to create a dedicated thread for all my other modelling projects, where I'll post my painted miniatures and terrain pieces. To start off, here's a coaching inn - or perhaps just the principle building from a coaching inn, which would need some lodging houses and stables to be complete. The building itself I found on ebay, listed by the seller as bring made by Total System Scenic, but if they ever did produce this, they don't seem to anymore. Anyone who happens to know what it is, please let me know! I also added a chimney pipe made of a paper straw and the central plastic tube from a roll of receipt paper from a card machine that I nabbed from my work. There's also an inn sign from the old Mordheim terrain accessory sprue. I have plenty of other buildings, but nothing like stables, so I'd like something like that to complete the scene of a coaching inn.

I imagine it's the sort of place a traveller might find quiet shelter from the rain and mud of an autumn in the empire, perhaps on the long road from the river Reik crossing up to Middenheim.

Cool.
Though with that name, I would be minded to give it a pass.

:)

IIRC TSS were part of the company that Geoff and Chas of QRF owned. But due to shipping PITAness they sold the terrain tiles off as a separate concern a few years back and they sold the TSS name. The site you find now is the current owner of the tiles and it seems some resin buildings.
Maybe back in the day when TSS was part of QRF they sold it?

Ahh, I see. These things change hands all the time I suppose, and nobody out there is keeping as comprehensive track of terrain as they do figures. QRF's site looks to have plenty of buildings from this sort of period, though they lack photos.

Another building to show off here, a ruin from Hovels. I think it's part of their ACW range, though I think it works perfectly fine as a stone building for a couple of centuries earlier, and certainly fitting for Warhammer. I was actually really drawn to it, something about ruined stone cottages brings me a lot of nostalgic feelings for my Welsh childhood, where I played a lot around the ruins of cottages in the fields.

I also made a little wooden planked platform mostly from scratch (using a ladder from the Mordheim terrain sprue) to fit around the chimney, making something like a little look-out post for any bandits or others who might be hiding out here. I was also thinking that, since I plan to use these pieces for rural Mordheim games, some verticality might be good.
