Space Pirates and G.I.s

Here's my Rogue Trader Space Pirate army progress.

My pirate captain is menacing a prisoner/subordinate, which makes use of the model's raised fist pose. I really like the 'casualty' models from early 40k for use in mini dioramas like these.

Being a ragtag of different races, abhumans, mutants, and Imperial renegades, a pirate army can have some very unusual units. Currently I'm remodelling giants from the WFB series as GIs (Gigantic Infantrymen), the remains of an early Imperial genetics programme to create super soldiers.

Modelled on the 'Rogue Trooper' idea from 2000AD, these GIs are huge but dim, making them useful as heavy weapons platforms for an army that will struggle to fully maintain Imperial grade technology and vehicles purely through trade and plunder. Obviously, they need feeding, and while some prisoners will be sold as slaves, others... well...

Here's another casualty model being dragged off for dessert err... ransom...

This chap's considering whether to use his autocannon's bayonet as cutlery...

While I've got a long way to go with the GI's I've got a spare hand for the Perry giant and using weaponry from an Imperial Knight, I'll be outfitting him into a mini-Titan soon. The Goblin War-Giant model is being fitted out with a weapons platform to rival a Knight or a Predator/Land Raider.
