Space Hulk Terminators

Having got the 1st Edition of Space Hulk when I was a kid, I have always had a bit of a soft spot for the terminators. OK not very dynamic by today's standard but solid in the service in the Emperor.

Anyway, just finished the last one I had sitting about in the plastic pile and in a nod, to the box art. So, I painted him up as a Blood Angel.

It would be good to see if anyone else has few of these painted up.

Nice work. I'm not sure if i got any lying around.. My father took most of the Terminators for his Ultra marine army back in the day, But i might be able to rumange a couple unpainter ones up.. though ... i might have to customise them a bit.. I don't play 40K these days, but i still got my Space Wolve army (and some really need painting.. late 90s wasn't a time when i had any talent for painting

Lovely paint job. I've a rather soft spot for those old terminators, despite their questionable molding. I think it's something to do with the very clear facing - which of course is important in Space Hulk. I've a few of them lurking in piles here and there, but none painted - even found one with antenna still attached! I can't remember if I ever painted any back "in the day", but those would be with my brother if they exist still.

Ha.. haven't found my Space Hulk board set yet (first edition) but found 8 of the 10 Marines.. One with the anntenna still (boy they are weak.. probebly why even the press shots don't have them)- Though three of them have pretty bad spray paint base colour which.. it's piling off the bases but tricky to get off the figures (haven't got anything to strip plastics.. have they invented anything that won't just kill the plastic yet?).. I think 2 of them are in fact from Deathwing or something due to the red bases.. but same model..

I was debating what to paint them up as.. deciding while i normally have space wolves.. maybe something else.. then i though.. storywise it would be tricky but why not each one from a different chapter? that gives me 8 to pick

I think the red bases were used to indicate the Sergeant/Captain in each squad. I've generally been using Bartoline Clean Spirit to strip models including plastics without any disasters so far. There are plenty of paint stripping options out there and a dare say some others described on this board.

Ah, of course (for the red base).. been way too long.. I'm kinda on a quest at the moment.. I have Space Crusade, Space Hilk and Battlemasters, all with pretty much the miniatures missing or not complete.. mostly cause they were taken out.. So i'm looking around the loft and places to regather them ^_^

m.. so that Clean Spirit.. 'water-based alternative to white spirit'.. interesting.. might see about some. I got some cheap 'alternative' white spirit but that's almost empty.. Thanks

I would recommend not using white spirit... Back in the 90s I soaked some of those blue plastic termies in white spirit for a week to get the paint off... they were rather 'soft' round the edges when I took them out!

^_^ okay. It also depends on the types of plastic.. more companies seam to use softer plastics these days.. don't know why.. I'm not sure if it's an improvement really..
