So... Ion Age...

Years ago I played the first edition of Firefight a few times. I don't know if the game has changed much since then.
I don't know anything about MOTH.

I enjoyed Firefight despite some minor concerns about balance.
Combat was fun. Initiative was individual. You pick a model, roll a pool of dice to generate hits or dodges, results of neither could be used to move. To attack you would assign a hit to an enemy model, who would then roll his dice in an effort to dodge that attack and make his own, until all are done. Cover would allow you to reroll dice in hopes of generating dodges. It was fun and dynamic, although I'm not sure if the odds worked out right for some of the option. We did not analyse it too deeply or play too competitively so any potential imbalances never spoiled the fun.

Now, this was maybe 15 years or so ago, so my memory is hazy.
But now that you have mentioned it again, I'm tempted to pick up a copy and play again.
It was fun.

Not played it but have a bunch of the models. The Retained (originally Crusaders I believe back in the early 90's) are really nice, a few dodgy ones here and there but over all damn nice powered armour types. Big buggers though! Bigger than Space Marines of the same era and quite possibly intentional.

Didn't know about the size difference. Have you got a scale comparison shot?

The Ion Age would be my #1 choice if I was going to do a 28mm Space Gothic Imperial Marine chapter.

A nice bit of extra heft to them. :)

Nice one! Like the keyboard as well, is that a WASD?

Looks like the Prydia don't mix too well and maybe a bit too small for use as Terminators. Stuck to Ion Age as 100% exclusives they could be cool.

I'm a huge fan of these figures and my entire imperial force is made up of them.

Cheers,

Blue

It's kinda depressing that people would rather use new games for scavenging models from then than play them XD .

In general, maybe, but on a site dedicated to playing old games? Seems like it goes with the territory.
(I image people here, like me, play new games too, they/we just don't talk about them here)
