Silly question about realm of chaos

Hi All

Silly question about the warbands rules in Realm of Chaos. When fighting other Warbands do the followers have to group into units or is it a skirmish set were they can run around as single figures? Just wondering as when you start out seems that you have a champion and a routine of troops. All the pictures in the books show them as units. Never done a Wrband system before and thought it would be good to introduce some of my mates into the oldhammer way of things as a skirmish type set.

The followers all rank up in too units, so If you roll 8 Beastmen that's one unit, but it you roll 2 groups of Beastmen they rank up separate and form 2 units

Cool thanks Chico explains it all now, never used those rules always made armies from the Warhammer Armies book, but have now pledged myself to Pappa Nurgle.

When we play, we allow units to merge in order to keep them good sizes.

That's right, new units may be added to an existing unit of the same type.
